What are the best steps for upgrading my PC so it runs Halo better?
I'm not buying Vista, and I'd say I'm on a short budget.
Edit: BE SPECIFIC, if I was to walk into a Store, I should know what type of thing.
Ex. An extra memory stick of 80 kilobytes

A new graphics card and more RAM is always a good thing.

What kind of internet are you running... I think I would be able to tell if it was dial up, but just for clarification Better internet will keep your ping low and lag at bay. A more powerful graphics card will increase your FPS in intense graphics situations. Like if you're in a rockets match with stuff exploding, it will keep your screen from twitching and such. Plus everything looks so much more badass with good graphics.RAM... I don't know exactly what it does but it has something to do with virtual memory? (A necessity for games) So, the more the better.

I have COX, which is "high speed internet" when it really means "slow".
Not a modem, I have cable.

You still need to specify a budget.

Yeah, ask tailz about the whole color thing. It seems very useful and I wish I had it back when my card blew.

I have PLENTY of color, I never knew that cards without color existed... except for 20 year old ones =D
Sorry to hear that. =(
Oh well, thanks Blitz (and Jizz?) for the tips about Bungie

Hmm.... should I risk getting caught using my dad's credit card for about, 40 bucks of stuff, or should I ask him to pay him back?
