OK SO.. i torrented the full version of fraps, uninstalled the trial version (as well as went through regedit deleting keys with "fraps" in the name) and then installed the torrented version
the program will still not start, driving me insane idk what to do

That happened to me too, Drift. I googled it and pretty much everyone said the only solution was to re-format your computer to get rid of what Fraps left behind with the trial version.. 'cause you know it leaves that "frapsold.tmp" file that you can't delete.. which I believe is the source of the problem.. I think. I'm going to reformat tonight probably.

Wow. Lol, that sucks big nuts for you guys... I can't remember what I did.. ok, I got the full version from OSE-Ringo, uninstalled, and I think it worked smoothly from there. I did have a similar problem not too long ago though, FRAPS wouldn't come up, like at all. I uninstalled (via the Add/Remove Programs thingy) and then installed again, worked like a charm. Maybe you're uninstalling with the install file?

I never had problems with the Full Version of Fraps when I downloaded it. I just uninstalled the Trial Version before installing the full one. But, I don't like Fraps because the file sizes for the videos are super huge. GameCam is the best. You can record how ever long you want with it, and the file sizes are small. www.planetgamecam.com
